  1. Prepare the commercial scope, based on the information pack:
    • List products/services
    • List markets for the products/services
    • List customers segments per product per market
    • List the channels through which the products are delivered
  2. Execute a desk study on the organization’s documentation and make an inventory of the products, markets, customers and channel that are involved within the project scope.
  3. Verify the commercial scope with the product manager (or equivalent):
    • Input: inventory preparations
    • Verify and complete/correct the inventory
  4. Agree the engagement’s commercial scope:
    • Preparation
      • Participants: management team (highest level for the project scope involved)
    • Input
      • Product, market, channel, customer analysis
    • Execution
      • (Re)confirm project scope: The project scope has been finalized in the phase “Focus and direction”.
      • Confirm product, market, channel, customer analysis: Present the commercial scope as part of the engagement.
      • Prioritize future market focus: Output: prioritized product, market, channel, customer analysis within the scope of the engagement.
      • Continue with next activity: high level value added chain.
